AM inoculation and P application promoted the growth of both species. AM inoculation in the early growth stages promoted colonization in both species, but P application did not. Nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations were affected by neither AM inoculation nor P application. Nitrogen uptake in both Aj and Gd, however, was affected by both AM inoculation and P application. Phosphorus uptake was affected by AM inoculation in Aj and by P application in Gd. The results suggest that both P application and AM promoted legume growth and AM colonization was not suppressed by P application. Nevertheless, plant responses to the treatments varied with species and growth stage.

Effects of the mycorrhizal fungus Glomus intraradices on establishment of subterranean clover (Trifolium subterraneum L.) seedlings in saline conditions were studied in a glasshouse experiment. Growth and nutrient uptake were determined 10, 20 and 30 days after transplanting of mycorrhizal and nonmycorrhizal matched seedlings into soils with five different levels of salinity. Mycorrhizal plants...

Influence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) (Glomus etunicatum, G. intraradices and Glomus versiforme) and external phosphorus supplement (8 and 35 mg P Kg-1 soil) on leaf P, Zn, Cu and Fe nutrition of 4-month-old tea(Camellia sinensis) was studied in an glass house pot experiment. The highest leaf P concentration (up to 59.43% increase) was found in G. versiforme inoculated seedlings gro...

Inoculation experiments were carried out in pot culture to determine the effects of VA fungi on the growth of Poa bulbosa. In this experiment, four treatments were used: 1. Strile soil without inoculation, 2. Strile soil plus inoculum, 3. Natural soil plus inoculum, and 4. Natural soil without inoculation. Inoculum was prepared from a suspension of mycorrhizal roots of Poa plants (Root c...
